Foremark Funday 2014

Written by

Thanks to everyone who visited the club as part of this year's Foremark Funday. We had over 130 visitors on the water in total, enjoying powerboat rides and sailing taster sessions. We hope everyone enjoyed it just as much as the BSC team did!

A few of our favourite photos from the day are available on our facebook page. If you enjoyed your first try at sailing and would like to learn more, take a look at the Training tab above for details of up-coming courses.

Burton SC recently held a series of sailing sessions for a number of youngsters with special educational needs from the local Pingle School. Read all about it on the RYA website here.

Burton SC Open Day - 26th May

Written by

We will be hosting our annual open day on Monday 26th May (11am - 4pm). This is an opportunity for anyone to come down to the club, have a look around our facilities, meet the team, have a look at the boats we sail, and go for a trial sail with one of our instructors.

The open day is open to everybody, no matter what age or experience. We are a family club, and would love to see both parents and children visiting us on the day.

No special clothing or equipment is required for those opting for a trial sail - only shoes with decent grip (e.g. trainers) that you don't mind maybe getting a bit wet. Buoyancy aids etc will be provided.

If you're thinking of learning to sail with us, or if you'd just like to see what we do, come down and visit us on the 26th!

The Burton Mail's Sarah Bould recently tried sailing for the first time at Buton SC. Read all about her taster session here.

The RYA have produced an article on Burton SC for their website. Read all about the club's plans for the forthcoming year at the following link:

Burton SC's Youth Academy Goes Team Racing

Written by

On Saturday 15th March Burton SC's Youth Academy joined other sailors from DYS at a Team Racing Event at Farmoor Reservoir near Oxford.  It was the Academy's first foray into competitive team racing and unfamiliar boats and difficult weather conditions added to the challenges they had to overcome.  A great time was had by all, and our juniors are keen to build on this great experience to make competitive racing a regular event.
