The 2013 Novice Champs held on 8th June met with a cool North Eastery force 2-3 wind. These were ideal conditions which led to some keen racing and great fun. It also meant the start and finish line was conveniently close to the dinghy park.
The race officer chose to pack in 5 short 30 minute duration races using a simple traingle course. Two back to back races were held in the morning and after a lunch break a further three back to back races followed.
For a novice race the standard of the competition was very high. The fleet obviously heeded the advice of the race officer "to stay near the start line once the start sequence begins" as the standard of the starts were fantastic.
There was a healthy turnout of some 13 boats for the event.
The results can be found here.
Photos from the day can be found here.
