We are a fun, family club that provides a vast range of activities from training for beginners to regular racing, windsurfing and offshore sailing.

We enjoy excellent sailing facilities at Foremark Reservoir amidst the dramatic Derbyshire countryside, in the heart of the National Forest within easy reach of Derby, Nottingham, Burton, Leicester and Loughborough.

Fitting Out Supper - Friday 4th March

Friday 4th March 2016 Mickelover Golf Club Three course meal, followed by after dinner tea/coffee. Menu choices are below. (More vegetarian options available on request.) £16 per person. (Children under 14 go half price for half portions.) As usual we will need to know numbers and ask for payment before the event. (Please let us have your menu choices by Feb 14th.) The meal will be followed by the full 2015 series prize-giving, including discretionary prizes such as “service to club” and the coveted “capsize trophy”. DYS Learning Events

On Saturday 23rd January Burton SC hosted a Supported Learning event organised by Derbyshire Youth Sailing (DYS). Ten sailors from across a number of the Derbyshire sailing clubs, including four BSC Youth Academy sailors, were coached by four experienced DYS sailors. The day started with some warm up exercises and a run around the club for the Topper sailors and boat rigging for the Laser sailors. Youth Academy kicks off New Year

The Youth Academy kicked off 2016 with an opening session yesterday.  Alongside the visiting Midlands Optimist Zone Squad, the young BSC sailors took to the water in a range of single and multi-handers.  Danny Ramsden and Alex Hall took them through their paces to blow away the Christmas cobwebs.  The Youth Academy is planning a series of winter training sessions before the clocks going back enables us to revert to our normal Friday nights. Dear All,   The planned Dinghy Instructor Course which starts in February is soon to close for bookings. If you want to get involved in this tremendously rewarding aspect of our sport please book online as soon as possible. The course cost is £20 for members.
