Burton SC has 12 buoys
- Fixed buoys 1-10 (orange)
- Movable buoys X (green) Y (orange)
These are shown in the picture to the right.
There is no sailing south of buoy 6 between mid October - Mid March.
Further South from buoy 6 there are some overhead power lines, there is no sailing beyond these at any time.
The lake is very deep with no danger of grounding once the craft is a few yards in from the shores.
There are several sandy bays around the reservoir that can be used in an emergency.
