Welcome to the Burton Sailing Club website
We are a fun, family club that provides a vast range of activities from training for beginners to regular racing, windsurfing and offshore sailing.
We enjoy excellent sailing facilities at Foremark Reservoir amidst the dramatic Derbyshire countryside, in the heart of the National Forest within easy reach of Derby, Nottingham, Burton, Leicester and Loughborough.
More information about the activities we offer, and membership, is given via the tabs above, and the latest news from the club is given below. We hope you enjoy reading about our club, and come and visit us at Foremark soon!
To those that know her, it may come as no surprise that BSC’s Nieve Ball has been selected as one of three finalists for this years Panerai Challenger Trophy.
Nieve has achieved a great deal in such a short space of time. Through her commitment, hard work, dedication and the support of all around her she has grown so much and is a great ambassador for the club, for windsurfing and for young girls in sport in general. Well done Nieve!
We wish you the very best of luck in the final!
You may have seen some of our windsurf members flying around the reservoir this winter! Foiling has become the new 'big thing' in sailing with rapid growth in all areas.
To continue the development of this area of the club and not wishing to rest on our Laurels of being voted the 'NWF windsurfing club of the year 2018', we are trying to source funding for a range of intermediate windsurf kit, with the hope of running more intermediate Windsurfing and Windfoiling 'first flight' sessions here at Burton sailing Club during the summer.... Watch this space!
For those that have already progressed to the higher levels, we are delighted to announce that IQ foil class are now running regular foil training for our Olympic pathway sailors.
Truly exciting times for our young windsurfers!
Congratulations must go to two of our youngsters representing Burton Sailing Club at the Eric Twiname National Junior Championships, held this year at Rutland Sailing Club.
Nieve Ball won 'first girl' in the 6.8M windsurfing class, whilst Alice Bennion did superbly to finish 4th girl in the 5.8m windsurfing class.
Both girls competed fiercely and are a credit to our club. Well done to you both!
With dedication and hard work, it really goes to show what can be achieved
