Welcome to the Burton Sailing Club website

We are a fun, family club that provides a vast range of activities from training for beginners to regular racing, windsurfing and offshore sailing.

We enjoy excellent sailing facilities at Foremark Reservoir amidst the dramatic Derbyshire countryside, in the heart of the National Forest within easy reach of Derby, Nottingham, Burton, Leicester and Loughborough.

Coming up at Burton Sailing Club!

A very Happy New year to you all! We hope you are looking forward to the new sailing season as much as we are! Book your 2020 sailing and windsurfing lessons now

Learn to Sail at Burton Sailing Club.... Bookings are now being taken for our popular 'Start sailing' beginners course. Courses are run during the summer here at Foremark reservoir over a series of weekends and are suitable for all ages from 8 to 88. Watch this short 'Start sailing' video Courses do tend to fill up quite quickly so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment. Please 'Click here' for booking information. Christmas Cracker Pursuit Race 2019

As another year draws to a close we hope that you will come along and join in the fun for the final club race of 2019. Open to all Burton sailing club members, the Race starts at 11am for the slowest boat with faster boats and windsurfers starting according to their PY handicap. Arthur George Memorial Pursuit race 2019 Race report

Sunday 29th of September 2019 saw the first running of the Arthur George Memorial Pursuit Race at Burton Sailing Club. Arthur was a long time club member, an enthusiastic competitor in Merlin Rockets, 505s and Flying Fifteen fleets who contributed to all aspects of club life at BSC. Arthur unfortunately lost his battle with cancer earlier this year at the untimely age of 62. Arthur enjoyed all sailing including supporting new members on RYA Level 1 and 2 but particularly enjoyed club Pursuit Racing. Arthur George Memorial Pursuit Race

*Important notice* 'Arthur George Memorial' pursuit race This Sunday 29th September 2019 Some of you will know the name Arthur George, some of you will be hearing it for the first time. The photograph alongside features Arthur helming a 505 with another longstanding and much respected club member, Dennis Cartwright, crewing in the 2007 505 National Championships.
