Welcome to the Burton Sailing Club website

We are a fun, family club that provides a vast range of activities from training for beginners to regular racing, windsurfing and offshore sailing.

We enjoy excellent sailing facilities at Foremark Reservoir amidst the dramatic Derbyshire countryside, in the heart of the National Forest within easy reach of Derby, Nottingham, Burton, Leicester and Loughborough.

Arthur George Memorial Trophy

Club members old and new are invited to come along and join us for this years, Arthur George memorial Trophy, on Sunday 27th September 2020. Due to the finale of the Ok Inland championships taking place in the morning, this years race will feature an afternoon start starting around 2pm. Arthur loved a good pursuit race and so should you. A bumper turnout is expected and some great fun on the water. RS Aero Open September 2020

We enjoyed an almost perfect day with a good breeze of around 10kn gusting 16kn and sunshine all the way for our first RS Aero open meeting at Burton Sailing Club. The event was due to form part of a newly formed Midland series but Covid-19 had other plans! Congratulations to Craig Williamson of Staunton Harold SC, taking first place overall with 3 bullets using the 7 rig and to Chris Larr of Northampton SC, finishing second overall using the 9 rig. Supernova Inland Championships 2020

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone that helped out over the weekend for our first major event since reopening the club. The event was a huge success and very well received by the visiting Supernova class association. Bart's Bash 2020

On Sunday 13th September, the club will again be participating in 'Barts Bash' a one off handicap race starting at 11am. It would be fantastic to have a bumper turnout for the event. The race is usually well supported and great fun. Club sailors of all abilities and ages are encouraged to come along and take part. We have recently been receiving a lot of interest in stand-up paddleboard (SUP) training, and I know that some of you have already contacted Viki to be added to a waiting list should a course become available. I would like to let you know that we will be hosting our first introductory SUP course on Saturday 29th August. This will be a beginners' course and no previous experience of SUP is needed.
